Let’s get spicy, shall we? Here is a Cinco de Mayo themed workout to get your boot campers fired up! This workout requires a few pieces of equipment, but can be swapped out for whatever equipment you might have. Enjoy!
5 x 5 x 5
5 stations, 5 minutes each, 5 reps per exercise (1 minute rest between each station)
1-Arm Dumbbell Clean and Press (5 per side)
Hollow Hold w/Knee Raises
Dumbbell Plank Rows (5 per side)
Pushup + Spider Planks (5 per side)
Dumbbell Goblet Squats
Resistance Band Pull Aparts
Broad Jump + Backwards Bear Crawl
(5 to 10 minutes)
Gather Boot Campers into a circle (feel free to break them into 2 or 3 teams depending on the size of class).
Using a medicine ball, place the ball in the middle of the circle. Have campers take turns running to the middle to do 1 Medicine Ball Slam and then run back to their place.
Using music, pause the music randomly and whoever has the ball when the music stops must do 5 star jumps then step out of the circle. Start the music again until 5 rounds have been completed (or when you run out of time).
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
